OUR MISSION
Free Ride! is a non-profit recycle-a-bike shop that enables people of
all ages to obtain, recycle, and maintain bicycles. Through educating
people on how to recondition used, donated bicycles, we are putting
forgotten bikes back on the streets in a reliable, safe condition. We
aim to enhance the health of our community and environment by promoting
active living and encouraging bicycle transportation.

Projects, Experiments,
Inventions, and Art that have used Free Ride as a Resource:
Bike
Blender

- The infamous Bike Blender. This silly
device is one of our most popular fundraisers. Made of all
recycled parts, we wheel this out to an event with some frozen fruit
and soy milk, and the people go nuts. Click (1, 2) to see a
articles of the bike blender in action. The only thing on here
not from a bike is a skateboard wheel, and of course the blender.
Rail
Bike

- Shaun's Rail
Bike! Don't worry, this is used on abandoned rails
only.
Homemade
Bike Stand

- This is a weldless way to make a
lightweight, free, portable bikestand using all recycled bike
parts. The only tools necessary are a saw and a drill. We
have a number of these scattered throughout the shop to supplement the
"good" stands. You can see it in use throughout the website.
